Horton Hears A "Who Gives A $#!+?"

Not much to say about these, though, I guess I could make something up...

They say every picture tells a story, and the story behind these is filled with tears, bloodshed, betrayal, and redemption. The fall of a kingdom, followed by it's ultimate salvation at the hands of a prophecised hero. Gut wrenching emotional drama, high adventure, a thorough examination of what it means to be human! Lightsabres? I dunno, whatever.

It's all that stuff, plus wonky anatomy, awkard facial expressions, and a lack of understanding as to what a hand or foot is supposed to look like.

It's good to see you continuing the blog. I periodically checked for updates on the old one. I like the 1st image. No major problems I can see. Good poses. Second image: the guy's fingers on his right hand seem a little too long. Like little tentacles. Other than that it's a solid illo. The only problem I see on the 3rd image is the girl's right thumb. It may be a little too long. All in all, these are some good figure studies. Keep up the good drawing. You're well on your way.

I like your inks on the top and bottom images. (Well, they're iffier on the bottom girl's pants since you decided you didn't want to keep going, but still over all very nice.) What did you use on it? The 80s off-the-shoulder shirt looks like some sweet brushwork, but the rest looks like maybe a tech pen?

Guy Mann-Thanks a ton for taking the time and giving me your critique. I'm always desperate for good feedback, so I really appreciate it. Do you mind me linking to your own blog? I'm trying to keep track of the people who've been kind enough to visit my own. I'll add you to the list, and drop me a line if you want off. Thanks again man.

Russell-I can't ink worth a damn and I know it, but thanks anyway. Even though I have all sorts of crazy shit I've picked up over time, the only things I ever really use are a couple of tech pens and a japanese brush pen. The tech pens make everything look flat and lifeless, but the brushpen has a line that's too thick and hard to control (so I mostly use it for hair). I didn't finish her legs because they were way, way off already so why waste time.

Thanks for the comment! I'm off to your site now...

Tons O' character in that first one in both the expressions and the poses. Well done! Guy Mann already mentioned the tentacles, but other than that.. Stellar... says alot without saying anything. That third one... well... you already know! Great job... I love seeing the colored roughs under the inks....

Josh-Thanks for the continued support holmes. I always like seeing the roughs of other peoples work, as I tend to learn the most from that. That being said, I only leave mine on there because without it, the mistakes would be more obvious and the figures would look a lot flatter. Diabolical!

Guy Mann-Thanks again. I'll most certainly stop by to comment on your future work, I assure you!
